Abstract A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SINTERED M5R MAGNET BODIES (M = CO, POSSIBLY COMBINED WITH FE, NI, CU, AND R = ONE OR MORE OF THE RARE EARTHS AND/OR TH). STARTING MATERIALS ARE TWO CASTINGS ONE OF THE ATOMIC RATIO M:R < 5 AND ONE OF M:R > 5. THEY ARE PULVERIZED, ORIENTED, COMPRESSED AND SINTERED IN AN ATOMOSHERE WHICH IS VERY POOR IN OXYGEN AND WATER VAPOUR.
