Abstract
Abstract A protective cap for gas cylinder valves including a base and a cover pivotally mounted on the base forming an enclosure therewith. A concealed locking mechanism is provided on the cover and is key activated to insert a locking pin through aligned openings in the base and cover to lock the latter in a closed position.

A protective cap for valves on pressurized gas containers comprising: a base having means for attachment to a gas storage cylinder and an open end, a cover having an open end, means pivotally mounting said cover on said base for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position, said cover having an offset portion adjacent the open end thereof overlying a portion of said base open end when in said closed position, said base portion having an opening therein, and key actuated locking means including a pin insertable into said opening to lock said cover to said base.
