Abstract WASTE SLIMES AND TAILINGS OBTAINED FROM THE BENEFICIATION OF VARIOUS ORES ARE UTILIZED IN THE RECLAMATION OF OTHERWISE UNLESS LAND. NOVEL PROCESSES FOR FORMULATING WASTE SLIMES AND TAILINGS INTO A RECONSTITUTED FERTILE SOIL HAVING ACCEPTABLE BEARING STRENGTH ARE DESCRIBED. AN OBJECT OF THIS INVENTION IS TO PROVIDE A CONVENIENT MEANS FOR ELIMINATING OR MINIMIZING THE LAND AND WATER POLLUTION HAZARDS NORMALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE DISPOSAL OF THE WASTE SLIMES PRODUCED IN ORE PROCESSING PLANTS.
