Abstract

Abstract A packing piece of elastomeric material for civil engineering constructions has integrally moulded thereto, a plurality of projecting members each of which is surrounded by a rigid metal member to prevent, or reduce the deformation of the packing piece during compression in a direction at right angles to the force applying the compression. The rigid metal members are maintained in position around the projections by means of washers and wood screws which are threaded into the free ends of the projections.
