Abstract

Abstract A convector hood for heating and/or cooling convectors is disclosed wherein two parallel side walls are clamped together, in spaced relation to each other, by means of U-shaped stirrups. The upper and lower longitudinal edges of the side walls are each bent over on the inside to form a groove of U-shaped cross section, and the free ends of the two legs of each U-shaped stirrup are inserted in the lower grooves of the two side walls whilst projections at the upper ends of these legs project into the upper grooves. In this manner the two side walls are held together without the use of additional fastening means such as rivets or screws, and at the same time the cross pieces of the Ushaped stirrups can serve for supporting the hood on a convector. The free sides of the upper grooves may be bent over inwards perpendicularly to the side walls for supporting a covering grid and cover parts, which cover parts may be formed on end walls insertable between the side walls. Openings may be provided in the cover part and/or in the end wall for receiving a pipe or a regulating valve projecting from the convector.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 142 words
A convector hood comprising: a housing having two parallel side walls, the top and bottom edges of each of said side walls being bent over to form a U-shaped groove at the top and bottom of said side walls; a plurality of U-shaped stirrups having a pair of spaced legs, the free end of each of said legs being positioned in the groove at the bottom of each of said side walls, each of said U-shaped stirrups having a projection which extends each of said legs beyond the bottom of the U, the free end of each of said projections being positioned in the groove at the top of each of said side walls, whereby the side walls are held in a spaced relationship by said stirrups; and a grid, said grid being positioned between said side walls adjacent the top thereof.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 142 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 142 words
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 142 words
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 30 words
A convector hood according to claim 1, wherein the edges of the free sides of said U-shaped grooves at the top are bent over inwards perpendicularly to said side walls.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 48 words
A convector hood according to claim 2, wherein cover parts are provided for insertion between said U-shaped grooves at the top of said side walls with the edges of said cover parts bent downwards for supporting contact on said edges bent over inwards perpendicularly to said side walls.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 25 words
A convector hood according to claim 3, wherein said cover parts have a laterally open notch for receiving a pipe projecting upwards from the convector.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 62 words
A convector hood according to claim 1, wherein end walls are provided for closing the ends of said hood which are inserted and held between said side walls by means of edges bent perpendicularly to a middle part and which have on the upper side a cover part which runs flush with said U-shaped grooves at the top of said side walls.
