Abstract APPARATUS FOR INCREASING THE SECURITY OF EXISTING DOOR LOCK INSTALLATIONS BY RENDERING THE SAME IMPERVIOUS TO PICKING. THE APPARATUS INCLUDES AN ARMORED COVER PLATE AND SHUTTER MECHANISM ADAPTED TO PREVENT THE EFFECTIVE APPLICATION OF PICKING TORQUES TO THE LOCK PLUG, AND INCLUDES NOVEL KEY MEANS AND AN OPERATOR THEREON, AND AN AUXILIARY LOCKING PROVISION WHICH BARS OPERATION OF THE LOCK EVEN BY PERSONS HAVING A PROPERLY FITTING KEY.
