Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 92 words
A composition for cleaning and drying articles consisting essentially of a chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent selected from the group consisting of trichloroethylene, perchloroethylene, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, beta-trichloroethane, cis and trans-dichloroethylenes and methylene dichloride, up to 60 percent by weight of water, and from 0.1 to 33 percent by weight of an emulsifying agent which is soluble in the solvent and is selected from the group consisting of calcium, ammonium and primary, secondary and tertiary methylamine and ethylamine salts of alkyl benzene sulphonic acids wherein the alkyl group contains from 11 to 13 carbon atoms.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 92 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 24 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the amount of the salt is at least 1 percent by weight based on the composition.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the solvent is trichloroethylene.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 12 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the solvent is perchloroethylene.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the salt of an alkyl benzene sulphonic acid is the calcium salt.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 31 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 which contains water and wherein the ratio of the amounts of the salt and water are such that the composition is clear and stable.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
A composition as claimed in claim 1 which contains at least 1 percent by weight of water.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 41 words
A method of cleaning articles which comprises immersing the articles in a composition as claimed in claim 1, withdrawing the articles and subsequently rinsing them in a chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent which is the same as that employed in the composition.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 53 words
A method of drying articles which comprises immersing the articles in a composition as claimed in claim 1 which is capable of emulsifying water to form a clear water-in-oil emulsion, withdrawing the articles and subsequently rinsing them in a chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent which is the same as that employed in the composition.
