Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 61 words
A process for producing organic pigments having improved heat stability and dispersibility which comprises the steps of (1) dissolving the crude pigment in sulfuric acid in the presence of (a) the sodium salt of alpHa-naphthalene sulfonic acid or (b) a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate, (2) diluting the mixture with water, and (3) recovering the improved pigment product.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 61 words
A process for producing organic pigments having improved heat stability and dispersibility which comprises the steps of (1) dissolving the crude pigment in sulfuric acid in the presence of (a) the sodium salt of alpHa-naphthalene sulfonic acid or (b) a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate, (2) diluting the mixture with water, and (3) recovering the improved pigment product.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 13 words
The process of claim 1 where the salt (a) is sodium alpha-naphthalene sulfonate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
The process of claim 1 where step (1) is carried out in the presence of a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
The process of claim 1 where the crude pigment is chlorine-free copper phthalocyanine.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
The process of claim 1 where the crude pigment is a chlorinated copper phthalocyanine.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 37 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the crude pigment is dissolved in sulfuric acid and subsequently mixed with (the sodium) a salt of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid or (b) a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 64 words
In a process for producing organic pigments having improved heat stability and dispersibility which comprises acid pasting the crude pigment, diluting the paste with water, and recovering the pigment product, the improvement which comprises pasting the crude pigment with sulfuric acid in the presence of (a) the sodium salt of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid or (b) a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 64 words
In a process for producing organic pigments having improved heat stability and dispersibility which comprises acid pasting the crude pigment, diluting the paste with water, and recovering the pigment product, the improvement which comprises pasting the crude pigment with sulfuric acid in the presence of (a) the sodium salt of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid or (b) a mixture of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid and sodium sulfate.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 26 words
The improvement of claim 7 wherein the ratio of the total amount of acid to the amount of crude pigment is about 5:1 to 12: 1.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 26 words
The improvement of claim 7 wherein the ratio of the total amount of acid to the amount of crude pigment is about 7:1 to 10: 1.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 32 words
The improvement of claim 7 wherein the amount of acid used in the process is about 5 to 12 parts by weight per part of the sodium salt of alpha-naphthalene sulfonic acid.
