Abstract A SYSTEM FOR HEATING VISCOUS SUGAR-CONTAINING LIQUIDS INCLUDES A POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT ROTARY BLOWER WHICH BOTH CMPRESSES AND HATS AIR FOR INTRODUCTION INTO A STORAGE CONTAINER FOR THE LIQUIDS. THE INLET TEMPERATURS OF THE AIR INTO THE CONTAINER IS CONTROLLED BY A THROTTLING VALVE. PREFERABLY THE AIR BEING COMPRESSED IS EXTRACTED FROM THE FREE AIR SPACE IN THE CONTAINER HOLDING THE LIQUID. VARIOUS CONTROLS CAN BE ADDED TO THE SYSTEM TO RENDER ITS OPERATION AUTOMATIC AND DEPENDENT UPON TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE CONDITIONS WITHIN THE SYSTEM.
