Abstract CHROMIUM-CONTAINING ALLOY SINTERED BODIES HAVING IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO OXIDATION AND NITRIFICATION ARE PRODUCED BY A PROCESS WHICH INCLUDES THE STEP OF HEATING THE BODIES TO AN ELEVATED TEMPERATURE IN THE PRESENCE OF FREE OXYGEN AND THEREBY FORMING A CR2O3 SCALE ON THE BODIES AND A CHROMINUM ION MIGRATION-BLOCKING LAYER OF YCRO3 AT THE INTERFACE OF THE CR2O3 SCALE AND THE METAL BODIES.
