Abstract THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO ESTERS OF B-SUBSTITUTED A-CYANACRYLIC ACIDS OBTAINED BY THE CONVERSION OF POLYHYDRIC ALCOHOLS, FOR EXAMPLE POLYVINYL ALCOHOLS, WITH B-SUBSTITUTE A-CYANACRYLIC ACID CHLORIDES, FOR EXAMPLE BENZYLIDENE-A-CYANACETIC ACID CHLORIDE, WITH THE EXCLUSION OF SHORT WAVE-LENGTH LIGHT, WHICH ESTER ARE CROSSLINKABLE ON EXPOSURE TO RADIATION. THE ESTERS ARE USED FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF PHOTOCROSSLINKABLE LAYER LAYERS, COATINGS AND SHAPED ARTICLES.
