Abstract THE FORMATION AND/OR GROWTH OF SLIME IN AQUEOUS SYSTEMS IS CONTROLLED BY ADDING TO THE WATER IN SUCH SYSTEMS A SLIME INHIBITING AMOUNT OF A WATER SOLUBLE INORGANIC SALT OF MONOPERSULFURIC ACID. IMPROVED SLIME CONTROL IS OBTAINED WHEN THE INORGANIC MONOPERSULFATE SALT IS USED TOGETHER WITH AN ALKALI METAL HALIDE.
