Abstract LIQUID HOUSEHOLD BLEACH HAVING VISUAL OPACITY IS PROVIDED BY THE INCORPORATION INTO THE BLEACH OF A PARTICULARLY PREPARED STYRENE-VINYL ACID COPOLYMER LATEX WHICH IS HIGHLY RESISTANT TO DETERIORATION IN THE BLEACH AND WHICH ENABLES MAINTENANCE OF USEFUL AVAILABLE CHLORINE LEVELS OVER EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. THE LATEX IS PREPARED BY INTRODUCTION OF STYRENE MONOMER INTO A PREFORMED AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF THE VINYL ACID AND A NONCATIONIC SURFACTANT.
