Abstract
Abstract Describes a method and apparatus for protecting mercury cathode electrolysis cells against damage from internal short circuits in which the current flow through the cell is measured so as to detect any voltage unbalance through an anode bank and when a substantial increase in the current in an anode bank occurs, raising said anode bank to increase the gap between the anodes in said bank and the cathode.
