Abstract SPRAY-SPUN NONWOVEN SHEETS HAVING IMPROVED PHYSICAL PROPERTIES ARE PRODUCED BY SPRAY SPINNING A FIBER-FORMING POLYMER TANGENTIALLY ONTO THE SURFACE OF A SHEET COLLECTION DEVICE. THE RANDOMNESS OF THE SPRAY-SPINNING PROCESS PROVIDES A UNIFORM SHEET HAVING BOTH LONG AND SHORT FILAMENTS.
