Abstract
Abstract Apparatus is disclosed for forming heat exchanger tubes having two helically wound foil strips each of which is provided with two lanced legs extending substantially perpendicular to the base tube. The foil stock is supplied from the interior of a coil consisting of two interleaved strips wound in a spiral form. The strips are separately fed and formed and are subsequently wound on an axially movable non-rotating tube. The winding head subassemblies are symmetrically positioned to provide dynamic balancing.
