Abstract
Abstract Electrophilic addition of fluorine to carbon-carbon multiple bonds which comprises reacting various unsaturated organic compounds in the liquid phase at low temperature with hypofluorites in which the fluoroxy group is covalently bonded to an inert electron-attracting group. A typical example of such a hypofluorite is trifluoromethyl hypofluorite. The reaction is generally applicable to a wide variety of aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds containing carbon-carbon multiple bonds.
