Abstract

Abstract The thermosetting acrylic enamel has as the film-forming constituents a blend of: 1. Interpolymer A which consists essentially of styrene; methyl methacrylate; a soft constituent which is either an alkyl acrylate, or an alkyl methacrylate; hydroxy alkyl acrylate or methacrylate and an Alpha , Beta -ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid; 2. Interpolymer B which consists essentially of styrene or methyl methacrylate, a soft constituent described above, hydroxy alkyl acrylate or methacrylate and an Alpha , Beta ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid; and 3. A HEAT REACTIVE CONDENSATE. The thermosetting acrylic enamel is useful as a finish for automobiles and trucks and can be used as a finish for plastics.
