Abstract A PROTECTIVE MATERIAL, SUITABLE FOR MAKING UP INTO PROTECTIVE GARMENTS, IS FORMED BY INTERPOSING POWDERED ACTIVATED CHARCOAL AND POWDERED THERMOPLASTIC ADHESIVE BETWEEN TWO SUBSTRATES AND HEAT-SEALING THE ASSEMBLY TOGETHER. A MICROFINE THERMOPLASTIC POWDER MAY ALSO BE INTERPOSED, AND THIS THE EFFECT OF COUNTERACTING UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS DUE TO ANY DUST WHICH MAY BE PRESENT IN THE CHARCOAL.
