The method of claim 1 wherein said buffer comprises a mixture of the salt of a strong base selected from the group consisting of sodium acetate anhydrous, sodium cacodylate, sodium citrate anhydrous, sodium lactate and the reaction product of tris (hydroxy-methyl) amino methane and sodium hydroxide, and a weak acid selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, cacodylic acid, glacial acetic acid, maleic acid and citric acid anhydrous.
