Abstract CERTAIN BIS-ISOTHIURONIUM COMPOUNDS HAVING AN INTERMEDIATE UREYLENE OR ETHER MOIETY PROVIDE ACTIVATION OF A SILVER HALIDE DEVELOPING AGENT UPON HEATING IN THE ABSENCE OF A SEPARATE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVATOR. A PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENT OR COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE BIS-ISOTHIURONIUM COMPOUNDS AND A SILVER HALIDE DEVELOPING AGENT CAN CONTAIN OTHER ADDENDA SUITABLE IN PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMEMTS AND/ OR COMPOSITIONS.
