Abstract
Abstract A fabric comprising cellulose or a blend thereof which may or may not be premercerized or prealkylated is impregnated with an aldehyde or an aldehyde liberating compound and thereafter exposed to acidic vapors to catalyze the reaction. Softening agents, bluing agents, formaldehyde catchers, optical brighteners, etc., may be included in the impregnating bath.
