Abstract A METHOD OF MAKING POWDERED SILICONE RUBBER COMPRISING THE FORMATION OF A SOLVENT DISPERSION BY DISPERSING IN A VOLATILE SOLVENT A SILICONE RUBBER STOCK TOGETHER WITH ANY DESIRED ADDITIVES AND A SILICAL FILLER FOR THE STOCK IN AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO AT LEAST 30 PARTS BY WEIGHT PER 100 PARTS STOCK AND THEN SPRAY DRYING THE SOLVENT DISPERSION. SILICONE RUBBER ARTICLES ARE THEN FORMED FROM THE POWDER BY ADDING A CURING AGENT TO THE POWDER, APPLYING PRESSURE AND SHEAR FORCES ON A MILL OR IN AN EXTRUDER TO CAUSE MASSING OF THE POWDER AND THEN SHAPING AND CURING THE MASSED MATERIAL.
