Abstract
Abstract A method of coating a moving metal surface comprising forming a dry layer of metallic powder on the surface, thereafter applying an aqueous liquid of a substance which gels when suitably hydrated to the said layer and allowing the water to penetrate the metallic powder layer, and then passing the metallic powder layer against a compression roller to compact the powder to the said surface, the said liquid acting to reduce the extent to which the roller dislodges the powder.
