Abstract

Abstract An electrical conductor assembly made up of a plurality of electrical conductor strands connected in electrical parallel each of which is provided with a continuous uninterrupted layer of insulation material. The plurality of the insulated electrical conductor strands are encompassed in an electrical conductive layer which is a fluorocarbon resin having randomly dispersed therein an electrical conductor material such as graphite in discrete particulate form. The graphite is present in amounts of 0.5 to 75 percent based on the weight of the fluorocarbon resin. This electrical conductive layer is floating with respect to ground. Alternatively, the conductive layer is grounded at relatively higher voltages. Surrounding this electrical conductive layer is an insulating support coating.
