Abstract
Abstract THIS INVENTION RELATES TO WAX COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING A WAX, AN ETHYLENE-VINYL ACETATE COPOLYMER, AN ACID COMPONENT AND A POLYVINYL ALKYL ETHER. MOST PREFERABLY THE POLYVINYL ALKYL ETHER IS EITHER METHYL ETHER OR POLYVINYL ISOBUTYL ETHER. THESE COMPOSITIONS HAVE HIGHLY IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO STRESS CRACKING AND IMPROVED SEAL STRENGTH. THEY CAN BE UTILIZED AS HOT MELT COATINGS FOR ITEMS SUCH AS PAPERBOARD AND CORRUGATED BOARD FOR USE IN THE PACKAGING INDUSTRY AND PARTICULARLY AS PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COATINGS.
