Abstract

Abstract Disclosed is a composition of matter useful as a fuel gas. The composition comprises a first component selected from methylacetylene, propadiene and mixtures thereof in admixture with dimethyl ether as a second component. The dimethyl ether preferably comprises at least about 25 mole percent of the composition. The composition is safely storable under pressure due to the stability against spontaneous decomposition of the unsaturated hydrocarbons afforded by the dimethyl ether. Additionally, the composition maintains an essentially constant composition upon withdrawal from storage.
