Abstract A POLYPROPYLENE COMPOSITION COMPRISING POLYPROPYLENE GRAFT COPOLYMERIZED WITH A VINYLPYRIDINE AND AN ACRYLATE OR METHACRYLATE ESTER, THE GRAFT COPOLYMER BEING PREPARED FROM A POLYPROPYLENE WHICH HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY HYDROPEROXIDIZED AT TEMPERATURES OF 70-130*C. THE MIXTURE IS SUBJECTED TO MELT-SPINNING AS SUCH OR AFTER INCORPORATION OF A MONOMERIC SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT AND/OR AN ORGANOPHOSPHORUS COMPOUND TO OBTAIN FIBERS HAVING EXCELLENT STABILITY TO HEAT, LIGHT AND OXIDATION, DYEABILITY AND COLOR FASTNESS.
