Abstract

Abstract Video signal processing apparatus which amplifies the composite video signal from the video detector of a television receiver and charges a capacitance to the peak voltage of the synchronizing pulses. The composite video signal is compared with the voltage stored in the capacitance by a comparator and an output pulse is produced when the voltage of the composite video signal is high enough to indicate the presence of a synchronizing pulse. The composite video signal is also compared with the stored voltage by a second comparator, and a noise-cancelling signal which prevents noise from affecting the voltage stored on the capacitance or the first comparator is generated when the voltage of the composite video signal is high enough to indicate the presence of noise.
