Abstract NOVEL 2,5-DISUBSTITUTED-1,3,4-THIADIAZOLES OF THE FORMULA: 2,5-BIS(2-(HO-),3-R1,5-R2-PHENYL)-1,3,4-THIADIAZOLE WHEREIN R1 AND R2 CAN BE HYDROGEN, TERTIARY ALKYL OF FROM 4 TO 8 CARBON ATOMS INCLUSIVE, AND PRIMARY OR SECONDARY ALKYL OF FROM 1 TO 10 CARBON ATOMS, PROVIDING THAT AT LEAST ONE OF R1 AND R2 IS A TERTIARY ALKYL. THE COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL AS BACTERIOSTATS.
