Abstract

Abstract Cellulosic substrates impregnated with a phenol-formaldehyde resin using a phenol which has been previously substituted with a specific mixture of cyclopentadiene codimers. The resulting impregnated sheets display an improved combination of properties including good tensile strength and flexibility, and are especially useful as filter media and as intermediates for the manufacture of laminates.
