Abstract

Abstract Form metal layer of a metal such as copper, tin, nickel or cobalt on an electrically nonconducting layer by first forming a silver or mercury nuclei image on the layer and then treating the layer with an aqueous solution of the metal to be deposited and a mixture of reducing metal ions and the oxidated forms thereof. An example is an aqueous solution of nickel ions and mixture of Cr2 and Cr3. This abstract is not intended to be a description of the invention defined by the claims.
