Abstract TETRACHLORODIFLUOROETHANES (SYM-, UNSYM-, AND MIXTURES THEREOF) AND NITROMETHANE, IN CERTAIN PROPORTIONS, FORM AZEOTROPIC MIXTURES WHICHARE CONSTANT BOILING AND WHICH POSSESSES SOLVENT CHARACTERISTICS FOR CERTAIN ORGANIC POLYMERS SUBSTANTIALLY GREATER THAN EITHER THE TETRACHLORODIFLUOROETHANES OR NITROMETHANE ALONE. THESE MIXTURES ARE USEFUL AS SOLVENT MEDIA FOR COATING AND ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS AND AS STRIPPING AGENTS TO REMOVE FILMS BONDED ON ORGANIC POLYMERS.
