Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim
271 words
A card-punching assembly comprising a plate containing longitudinal parallel grooves and intersecting parallel transverse grooves, push rods slidably received in said longitudinal grooves, each said rod being longer than the preceding rod by the space of one transverse groove and extending beyond one end of said plate, second push rods slidably received in the transverse grooves, each being longer than the preceding rod by the space of one longitudinal groove and extending beyond one side of said plate, means selectively moving any said transverse rod to intercept and block its corresponding longitudinal rod, a movable perforated plate slidably receiving the extended ends of said longitudinal rods and held thereon by key means on the side of the plate away from the end of the said grooved plate and having space between said perforated plate and said grooved plate in which to move towards said grooved plate, a stationary perforated plate close to and parallel to the movable plate slidably containing therein punches axially aligned with the said longitudinal rods and held in said stationary plates by key means on the side of the plate towards the movable plate, a second movable plate matching the first movable plate and attached thereto by said members to form a boxlike structure around and spaced from said stationary plate, said second movable plate receiving the unkeyed ends of said punches, a punch plate parallel to said second movable plate and spaced therefrom sufficiently to allow the insertion of a card therebetween, means facing said punch place against said second movable perforated plate and thereby moving said boxlike structure against the end of said grooved plate.

Dependent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
55 words
A card-punching assembly as described in claim 1 in which a number of said grooved plates with their associated push rods are stacked one above the other, and in which said perforated plates and the punch plate contain additional rows of holes to receive said additional layers of push rods and the corresponding said punches.
