Abstract AN EVACUATED LENGTH OF ACCURATELY SIZED BORE CAPILLARY TUBING WITH SEALED ENDS IS SCORED ADJACENT ONE END, SUPPORTED IN A BREAK-OFF MEMBER ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF SAID SCORE FROM SAID ONE END, IMMERSED IN A SAMPLE FLUID, AND THE LENGTH OF TUBING PUSHED AXIALLY AGAINST A WEDGE SURFACE OF THE BREAK-OFF MEMBER SO AS TO STRAIN THE SCORE LATERALLY THEREBY CLEANLY BREAKING OFF THE ONE END BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE SAMPLE FLUID. VACUUM DRAWS THE FLUID INTO THE LENGTH OF TUBING WHICH CAN THEN BE CUT INTO ACCURATE SHORT LENGTHS EACH CONTAINING A KNOWN VOLUME OF THE SAMPLE FLUID.
