Abstract A WIRE ENGAGEABLE ORTHODONTIC BRACKET THAT IS PARTICULARLY ADAPTED FOR MOUNTING ON A TOOTH ENCIRCLING BAND. THE BRACKET INCLUDES A RECESSED WIRE ENGAGING CENTRAL PORTION, WHICH CENTRAL PORTION HAD TWO WINGS EXTENDING THEREFROM IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. THE WINGS ARE OF SUCH CONFIGURATION THAT THEY TEND TO GUIDE A TENSIONED ELASTOMERIC RING THAT THEY ENGAGE INTO A SEATED POSITION WITH THE CENTRAL PORTION, WITH THE BAND WHEN SO SEATED SERVING TO ANCHOR THE WIRE IN THE RECESSED POSITION.
