Abstract

Abstract This invention relates to flame-resistive, nonflammable foam compositions comprising a flame-resistive organic foam material and an inorganic filler. The flame-resistive organic foam material is produced by using an aromatic polyisocyanate having no ortho substituent, an active hydrogen-containing compound, a foaming agent and a catalyst and the inorganic filler is graphite, talc, or inorganic fiber or the like. The flameresistive foam compositions are used as insulators for walls, chemical plants and tanks for storing a liquefied natural gas and other apparatus.
