Abstract
Abstract A method and device for determining through acoustic techniques the permeability of geological formations adjacent a borehole, wherein sonic wave trains are sequentially emitted into the formations from a source moving through the borehole to different depths and the wave trains are received at a detector located in fixed spaced relationship with the source, the received signals being then measured to determine the ratio of the intensities of preselected oscillations of the received wave train which is plotted versus depth.
