Abstract A DEVICE FOR RECEIVING AN APPROXIMATELY 15 MICROLITER SAMPLE OF BLOOD AND FOR TRANSFERRING GAS FROM THE BLOOD TO A GAS RECEPTOR FLUID THROUGH A GAS PERMEABLE MEMBRANE. THE BLOOD SAMPLE MAY BE STORED IN THE DEVICE WHICH IS ADAPTED TO DELIVER THE RECEPTOR FLUID INTO A MEASURING ELECTRODE. BY CONTRAST IN PRIOR ART SYSTEMS BLOOD GAS ANALYSES WERE MADE IN THE SAME DEVICE IN WHICH THE BLOOD SAMPLE WAS PLACED.
