Abstract THIS INVENTION RELATIVE TO INFLATABLE MEMBERS THAT CAN BE USED AS STRUCTURES OR AS SUPPORTS FOR STRUCTURES AND A MEMBER COMPRISES AT LEAST TWO PARTS HAVING DIFFERENT EXTENSION CHARACTERISTICS, EACH OF THESE PARTS BEING MADE OF AN ELASTIC MATERIAL REINFORCED BY AT LEAST TWO LAYERS FORMED OF MUTUALLY PARALLEL ELEMENTS WHICH ARE SUPERIMPOSED AND CROSSED SYMMETRICALLY RELATIVELY TO THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION OF THE MEMBER SO THAT THE ANGLE FORMED BY ONE OF THE ELEMENTS OF ONE OF THE PARTS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ANGLE FORMED BY THE ELEMENTS OF THE OTHER PART.
