Abstract A GRINDING MACHINE FOR GRINDING LONGITUDINAL EXTERNAL WELDS ON LARGE CYLINDRICAL METALLIC BODIES. IT GRINDS WELDS SMOOTH ADJUSTING AUTOMATICALLY TO CHANGES IN SURFACE CONTOUR AS GRINDING PROGRESSES FROM ONE END OF THE WELD TOUR AS GRINDING PROGRESES FROM ONE END OF THE WELD TO THE OTHER END. SENSING PROBES CAUSE THE GRINDING MEANS BODY.
