Abstract The new compounds 25-hydroxytachysterol3, 25hydroxydihydrotachysterol3 and methods for preparing same. 25hydroxydihydrotachysterol3 is characterized by antirachitic activity and by its ability to induce bone mobilization and thereby increase serum calcium concentration indicating its application for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism. 25hydroxytachysterol3 is a valuable intermediate in the preparation of 25-hydroxydihydrotachysterol3.
