Abstract
Abstract An electrical energy storage device exhibiting high energy storage capacity comprises a novel silicon carbide cathode and an aluminum-lithium alloy anode, the pair of electrodes being immersed in or in contact with a molten salt electrolyte composed of a lithium halide and one or more of the halides of the alkali metals or the alkaline earth metals or combinations thereof.
