Abstract
Abstract A soil micronutrient product prepared from petroleum coke by oxidizing said coke with oxygen in the presence of water followed by contacting with a metal or ammonium containing cation solution to produce a family of cation exchanged derivatives of oxidized coke. The products of the invention may be used as a plant mulch, a soil conditioner, a source of carbon and trace elements for soil micro-organisms, petroleum catalyst and as a low cost ionexchange resin.
