Abstract AN INDUSTRIAL ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR HAVING A RAPPER CONTROL WHICH INITIATES A RAPPER CYCLE IN RESPONSE TO DUST WEIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ON THE COLLECTOR PLATES. THE PLATES ARE DEFLECTED DOWNWARDLY BY THE WEIGHT OF THE DUST; AFTER PREDETERMINED WEIGHT INCREASE THE DEFLECTION IS SUFFICIENT TO ACTUATE A TRIGGER FOR THE RAPPER CONTROL.
