Abstract A METHOD OF DEPOSITING A THIN MAGNETIC LAYER ON A WIRE FOR CONSTRUCTING A LOGICAL DEVICE SUCH AS A MEMORY MATRIX. THE METHOD COMPRISES ELECTRODEPOSITION THE LAYER IN A CONTINUOUS PROCESS UNDER CONDITIONS WHICH GIVE A UNIFORM DEPOSIT AND IT MAY EMPLOY A SUPERIMPOSED ALTERNATING CURRENT TO GIVE A PREFERRED DIRECTION OF MAGNETISATION IN THE DEPOSITED LAYER.
