Abstract A METHOD AND APPARTUS FOR AERBOIC STABILIZATION OF SEWAGE SLUDGE. SEPARATE CIRCULATING AND AERATING DEVICES ARE PROVIDED, THE FORMER FOR STIRRING UP SLUDGE FROM THE TANK BOTTOM AND THE LATTER FOR INJECTING GAS INTO THE STIRRED UP SLUDGE. BOTH DEVICES MAY BE MOUNTED ON THE SAME TRAVELING BRIDGE WITH THE AERATING MEANS FORWARD OF THE CIRCULATING MEANS FOR MOVEMENT TOGETHER ALONG THE TANK.
