Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for treating exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine wherein air is mixed with the exhaust gases and the mixture is ignited. The exhaust gases are flowed in a stream through a housing, air is added to the stream to create an air-gas stream, and a portion of the air-gas stream is diverted and flowed in the opposite direction within the housing in a path surrounding the air-gas stream. The diverted portion of the air-gas stream is ignited and added back into the main airgas stream.
