Abstract MOLTEN GLASS IS PRODUCED BY CONTINUOUSLY DISTRIBUTING GLASS-FORMING MATERIALS ONTO A MOVING (E.G. A ROTATING) HEARTH, EXPOSING THE MATERIALS TO HIGH TEMPERATURE WHILE THE MATERIALS REMAIN STATIONARY RELATIVE TO THE HEARTH AND ARE MOVED BY THE HEARTH THROUGH A FURNACE CHAMBER TO CONVERT THE MATERIALS INTO MOLTEN GLASS, AND DIRECTING THE MOLTEN GLASS OVER AN EDGE OF THE HEARTH AS A CONTINUOUS STREAM.
