Abstract LARGE CRYSTALS ARE FORMED FROM A FLUID CONTAINING CRYSTAL FORMING MATERIAL BY PERIODICALLY DEPOSITING CRYSTALLINE MATERIAL FROM THE FLUID AND TRANSFERRING PART OF THE DEPOSITED MATERIAL BACK INTO THE FLUID AND AWAY FROM THE AREA OF DEPOSITION, THE AMOUNT OF CRYSTAL MATERIAL DEPOSITED IN THE DEPOSITION PART OF THE CYCLE BEING GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF CRYSTAL MATERIAL TRANSFERRED TO THE FLUID DURING EACH PERIOD. BY THIS MEANS THE GROWTH OF LARGE CRYSTALS IS INCREASED AT THE EXPENSE OF THE GROWTH AND FORMATION OF SMALL CRYSTALS.
